Haven't watched the show - decided to read the books first.
When the show first came out I read all the books. I didn’t want to wait to find out what happens. Don’t bother. A never ending story that goes nowhere.
Very few shows can capture the books. (Tom Clancy’s stuff worked on the screen.) HBO did a good job on the series and was better than the books, although, after reading the books I gave up on the series.
I don’t know the timetable on the new books, but maybe you’ll finish the current ones right as the new ones are released. I’ve never read them, myself.
