Don't know much about them. I found the picture on another site that looked like the ones on the video linked at the site above, since I don't know how/if video can be posted.
Looks to me like they stay within the atmosphere to some degree? That would offer some protection from space-based defensive weapons and allow more maneuverability?

To make best use of the MIRV capability the war head would need to be outside of the atmosphere.
