My suggestion is drink only when ashore. Drinks on the ship are a bleeping ripoff and you can’t bring your own.

Except that my travel includes a drink package which I UPGRADED to the premier drink package. Therefore I can have almost whatever I want. That is the purpose of this video. Since I can drink what I want without worrying about cost, I want to get recommendations for the BEST of the drinks.

With drink packages, upgraded or not ... if you board ship on Saturday the idea is to be money ahead by the following Tuesday. Achieving that will require some serious elbow bending.

Royal Caribbean’s all-you-can-drink package is $55 a day. Mixed drinks are 12-14 bucks each, a beer is eight, a Diet Coke is four (unlimited soft drinks are $25 per day), oh, and wi-fi access is $29 daily. This was on an Alaska cruise.

I went dark and stayed sober for a week for the first time in years. Drank nothing but coffee & water. Jogged & walked on deck most of the cruise; one should do on a ship only those things that can be done only on a ship.

Asked about a tour of the engine room and bridge. That would have been $89. They snapped more photos than a White House presser. Didn’t ask the cost; what’s an iPhone for?

Headed off for a week on the beach. That’s all the ocean I need.

;^)
