I quit 4 years ago after smoking 2 packs+ a day for 50 years.
I had a stroke and spent 3 weeks in the Hospital and rehab. That was enough time to reduce the craving to make it possible to quit.
I still reach for my front shirt pocket sometimes though.

I've been sober off booze for 29 years. I knew plenty of folks in AA who just couldn't give up the nicotine sticks, some tried mightily but they just couldn't do it. A couple eventually died from lung cancer and emphysema. Hats off to you for making it through.

I guess my point was that the fake cigarettes are not quite as good but even if you switch to them some people will still not like it because it looks like smoking.
I still find myself hanging outside at weddings just to smell the secondhand smoke. It smells like freedom.
