It’s a low rumbling noise that gets louder the closer the earthquake gets to us, and then the shaking, jumping, jolt of the earthquake experience. After it hits us, and continues on whatever direction it’s traveling the rumbling continues slowly dissipating in volume until we can’t hear it anymore.

We always turn to a small table lamp that has crystals hanging from it to see if they are swinging from the activity, and as usual they were. Not violently this time as some in the past, but enough to know we indeed did just have an earthquake.

We are on the rim of a valley. Only a few homes in our area. We can hear the earthquakes coming, and going. It’s a good exercise for the heart.

A 3.9 is about monthly in socal.

It apparently was felt from Wildomar into Mexico. I don’t know if there could have been any damage, but just the sound of it coming down the valley here is enough to get ones heart revved up. I know I looked across at Mrs. RQSR, and she was braced on the table as we heard the quake coming. Quite relieved once it was over.

Laying in bed at night with ones ear to the pillow one can hear the earthquakes all night long. They are minor of course, but almost constant. We are used to them.

You must be very close to the epicenter (not the ball park) to have felt it.

I cannot imagine. I live in the northern Midwest. We get storms, but we know well in advance they are coming and can take shelter. The quickness of an earthquake is scary.
