Tomahawk chops....
Years ago, when Ted Turner (Mr. Jane Fonda) owned the Atlanta Braves, one of the motions adopted by Braves fans was to do the “Tomahawk chop” a slashing motion of the hand. This was deemed to be “cultural appropriation” and “racist” by the PC folks of the time, and the custom died out. Hanoi Jane was sharply criticized for this at the time, even though her chopping motions were only half-hearted.
The 1991 season for the Atlanta Braves also included waving foam rubber tomahawks made & sold by an Indian tribe (Seminoles?), causing even greater PC uproar.
The chief of the tribe came forward to declare that whites waving tomahawks was not only not offensive, but was an important source of income as well.
