Manager: Trump family building ‘dynasty’ for decades to come

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (AP) — President Donald Trump’s campaign manager predicted Saturday that the president and his family will become “a dynasty that will last for decades,” transforming the Republican Party while hewing to conservative values.

Speaking to a convention of Republican Party delegates in Indian Wells, California, Brad Parscale also said the campaign’s goal is to build a national army of 2 million trained volunteers, far beyond the president’s 2016 organization, that in California could help the GOP retake a string of U.S. House seats captured by Democrats last year.

“The Trumps will be a dynasty that will last for decades, propelling the Republican Party into a new party,” he said. “One that will adapt to changing cultures. One must continue to adapt while keeping the conservative values that we believe in.”

I don’t see a Trump dynasty coming, if you’re talking about his family. If there’s an heir apparent, it’s probably Ivanka. I’m guessing she would be President Trump’s first choice, if he truly intends a family dynasty. She has class and smarts, but my sense is she’s too liberal for my taste. Would I vote for her over any democrat? Yes, certainly, in a general election. Probably wouldn’t support her in a primary, though. It would depend on the competition.

As long as California’s Republicans refuse to adopt the vote harvesting tactics of the Democrats, they’re not going to take back anything from them. One local district had a 20 percent increase in votes over a period when the population increased only 2 percent. Almost every one of those votes was for the Democrat candidate. That district was NOT atypical.

No dynasties, thank you.

The only Trump child constitutionally qualified to run for the presidency is Tiffany.

“The only Trump child constitutionally qualified to run for the presidency is Tiffany.”

I think the way it’s currently being interpreted is that only one of your parents has to be a natural-born citizen. I doubt a run by any of the Trump kids could successfully be challenged on constitutional grounds.

Yes, I hate to hear of anyone in the Trump administration talking about dynasties. I like the Trump children, but we are not Democrats who worship elitist political families!

Is she 35 already?

“Is she 35 already?”

Good question and I presume you know the answer. Tiffany is 25.

Ivanka is 37. Donald Jr. is 41. Eric is 35.

That’s bull, all three of his other children are natural born citizens. If you’re inferring that they’re eligible because their mother was born outside the U.S. then Trump himself is ineligible because his mother was born in Scotland.

Therefore she is not Constitutionally qualified.

What an idiotic thing to say. I wonder if he feels pressured by Trump or any Trump kids to say such.

Ha—not nearly.

And I wonder if Ivanka’s (and maybe Jr’s) ambitions have led to Trump dropping the Obama eligibility question.

Does Ivanka have smarts? I have never heard her utter a phrase that wasn’t completely banal. Her book was incredibly vacuous as well.

Don Jr. has a quick wit and at least politically analytical mind. But dynasties are not good for our country.

After Trump, what? Don junior has the chops for it and seems to believe in his dad’s policies. I can count on two hands the Republicans I currently trust. After Trump conservatives are in serious trouble, as is the country.

PDJT’s mother became a citizen BEFORE he was born.

Ivana didn’t become a citizen until her youngest, Eric, was 4-years-old.

Melania, I believe, became a citizen while pregnant with Barron.

Therefore, Tiffany is or will be the only eligible Trump offspring, beginning in 2028.

They were before he became POTUS and the family built it on their own.

I love Trump.

I oppose any more family dynasties. So far, the one that worked out best was Benjamin Harrison, and even he wasn’t that great.
