If somebody shot my husband or kids or grandchildren in an effort to disarm us, the last thing I’d do after that would be acquiesce to their demands. In fact, I’d be even more resolved to fight back because I’d have nothing left to lose.
It’s already happened at least once.

The point is to reorient your thinking and consider the other ways the government will come after you.
He is largely right. The government can shut down your life in a heartbeat without setting foot on you property.
However, patriots can cause the government a lot of grief without a frontal assault. History has examples.
I was in DC for 9/12. We essentially shut the city down. And we did it respectfully and peacefully. Double that number with folks with an aggressive attitude and everything changes. If we had had antifa's attitude we could have burnt the city down and there would have been nothing they could do to stop it.
There may not be "safety" in numbers, but there is power.
Look at what is going on in Hong Kong and France. Rioters in Hong Kong are taking on China. Protesters in France are attacking with yellow vests. When the arrests start taking the deep state away in DC there will be lots of unrest staged by the deep state. I expect you will have a mental break down when it starts here. They will be too busy to try to take our guns.
Yep, there will some of that. The key, of course, is to FIGHT THE LAWS before they are laws. Once the laws are in place...we’ll be on our heels trying to resist, and that won’t be fun.

I seem to recall that the entire LAPD abandoned their posts and headed for their rabbit holes when confronted with rock-throwing mobs during the 1992 LA riots.
Did the LAPD receive a Presidential Unit Citation for their heroics? I don’t recall.
While this scenario is plausible, it would be subject to long court challenges and political suicide for the politicians proposing it. I am not certain that there would not be organized resistance to implementing this. Clearly if the like of Warren or even Biden were to be elected POTUS this type of Second Amendment gutting would be first on their agenda.
I won’t have a mental breakdown. I will be fine. I fully expect the worst, and I know how bad things can get. I’ve already accounted for the worst that could happen.
Tale another look at history. This country was started when the England tried to take guns and force a tax on tea. Look at how many did not give up their alcohol during prohibition. Look at kids in the 60’s that rioted on campuses and 4 were killed at Kent State. Look at the armed rebellion against the government in Nevada at the Bundy ranch. More people were killed in Chicago than Afghanistan. WAKE UP
And when they get their way, there will no longer be a second amendment to protect their first amendment rights.

I'd rather hope it will wake people up to a potential Armageddon of lost freedoms.
I disagree with you that America is just as revolutionary in spirit as they once were. Sorry.
