Progressive activists love to use that academia-inspired metaphorical cant. They imagine it gives them an air of intellectualism. Not “those are the considerations that will affect my decision”, but “”That’s a lens through which I’m going to filter my decision.”
Lenses do not filter. Lenses focus. Filters filter.
