The entire post completely misses the elephant in the room. The trillion dollars of US aid to China. The other trillion dollars China has stolen from United States companies in intellectual property rights, all aided and abetted by the U.S. government. This is said, not to disparage the Chinese, who have played the U.S. government brilliantly. It is said to counter the claim that China has been "propping up" the U.S. economy. The Chinese also are diligent, work hard, study hard, and are shrewd businessmen. They are a worthy adversary, and we can lose. I highly recommend:
The Hundred-Year Marathon, written by a China expert who speaks fluent Mandarin, has been to China dozens of times, and who advocated for Chinese aid for most of his career. He has seen what China has done with the aid, and now continuously warns of the Chinese threat.
I had awn acquaintance recommend that book to me. The Chinese playing the long game is what the book details. A great read. It gives insight to how they are willing to wait until the timing is right. They are in no hurry, for they truthfully have all the time in the world.
