And for an “expert,” Nance’s credentials are skimpy. He was a Navy cryptologist for 20 years, and rose to the grade of E-8. Has a bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College, a largely on-line school that attracts lots of military enrollments through affordable tuition and generous awards of credit for military experience. Not exactly Harvard, and if he was one of the sharp tools in the Naval intelligence drawer, you’d think someone would have nominated him for a degree program at the Defense Intelligence College.
Nance served honorably, but hardly a stellar career; heck, I can find lot of retired Air Force SIGINT NCOs with far more impressive resumes than Malcolm Nance. Then again, most of them won’t spew the kook conspiracy theories that MSNBC expects.
One more thing; if you read Nance’s bio, it mentions he served a tour as a SERE instructor at the Navy survival school. Rather unusual posting for a CTT, since that rating is typically short-handed.
