That’s exactly what the deep state is doing. They have created the so called left right paradigm so that the people will fight among each other and the government elites can come in and take more and more control.

People do a good enough job hating each other on their own.

If elites want uncontested power, they find an external enemy for people to focus on.

I think you are 180 degrees off. The Democrat elite started this 60 year slide with the creation of identity politics and by creating a hugely varied coalition of groups with one goal...hatred of conservatives and wiping out the traditional USA. That has now morphed into open hatred and resentment of white people.

All of this was created by Democrat elites and continues to be pushed and encouraged by Democrat elites. The rabid leftist coalition fully supports their insane elites and they have consistent goals. Why should they turn on their elites?

Maybe, but if a group wants to infiltrate and take over a country with their ideology (from within), they first have to get a base of support.

The USA always had differing opinions on how to run things, but were generally united on a certain worldview and value system. You want to get something like socialism to take hold in the USA? You have to create an aggrieved base that develops a hatred for all things traditionally American, and then build that base, and present socialism as the opposite of what they hate.

Unfortunately, the demographic makeup of the USA, and the inherent racial problems, provided a ready-made aggrieved base with which the socialists could work, and also provided a moral basis for the replacement ideology, i.e. Capitalism is racist! Then you can pull millions into your oppressive, demonstrably evil ideology by convincing them that socialism is actually the more moral system, and that it is the cure for all of the ills of the capitalist society.

In the meantime, there is a ruling elite who favor the old system. This old elite has to be replaced, too. But, once you've established that the old American ways equal racism (and for good measure, create new sins, such as "sexism", "homophobia" and "transphobia") it is then an easy thing to pound the old guard into submission or oust them entirely simply by stating that there old (traditionally American) ideology is racist, sexist, etc. and no decent person would follow them.

That is where we are now - the new elite replacing the old. When that is complete, and any real support for our old value system is gone, THEN the new elite will benefit from external enemies to unite everyone under the new banner. But not before.
