many illegals just want to get one foot into in the US, and turn themselves in. A physical wall prevents that from happening. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but would the wall not necessarily be built on US soil? I.e. away from the actual border? They'd then still get into the US, so if that was the goal, the wall would be a mere inconvenience. (Or perhaps provide some welcome shade while they wait to be picked up...)
