7 Times Robert Mueller Played Dumb Before Congress For Partisan Advantage
The Federalist ^ | 7-29-2019 | Margot Cleveland

When Robert Mueller testified before the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees last week, the biggest take-away was that the former special counsel did not know the name Fusion GPS—the firm the Clinton campaign hired to produce the Steele dossier. The breadth of Mueller’s ignorance, hedging, and silence in response to questions posed to him, however, was truly expansive.

While much of the criticism leveled at Mueller following his testimony focused on his ignorance of key facts and his confusion over the details contained in the special counsel’s report, the following seven lines of inquiry show Mueller knew exactly what he was doing.

I said it elsewhere before, and I'll say it again.

It really doesn't matter whether he's acting like an old doddering fool or not, he's not shielding anybody including himself.

Now we want to investigate the investigators who actually produced the Mueller report; and Mueller completely tarnished his long career records.

Mueller’s investigation was obstruction of justice in itself.

Mueller asked Trump for his old FBI Director gig back, replacing Comey.

If that’s true - he denies it, but Trump affirms it - he couldn’t have presented as the stumblebum who presented at the congressional hearing.

I conclude that Mueller is the latest incarnation of Christine Blasey Ford. It was an act.

I live in a neighborhood full of seniors, including all of my immediate neighbors who are all past 90. You can still learn from a senile person if you take the time to hang out with them. It’s like a malfunctioning vending machine, sometimes you just get grinding sounds, but sometimes you get a nice treat for free.

I recognize a dicey machine when I see one.

Mueller’s got all the characteristic signs. He’s genuinely jammed up. He’s got the answers. It’s not in his interests, nor in his handlers’ interests, to make those answers accessible. And when he’s rolling along on all cylinders, he knows what he must not say.

There’s a reason he was appointed to the job.

He didn’t play dumb, he really is that ignorant. But he was smart enough to understand what the DOJ told him prior to the interview with congress. And he proceeded to keep his big mouth shut and his opinions to himself this time. I think he understood he was under oath and he better tell what he knows, not what he wants to display. He was neutered.

He seemed to answer the Democrats’ questions with more ease and clarity than the Republicans’.

Yep, and some of his protestations were simply ridiculous, with lawyerly evasions. That’s deliberate.

Mueller claims he didn’t know who was heading up the IRS scandal:

Well, of course - Democrats weren’t asking him pointed questions. The Republicans were.

But I think your suggestion is that someone as befuddled as Mueller postured as, would have struggled with the Democrat questions as well. And I agree.
