I don’t even think about my whiteness unless it’s brought up. If the subject is white guilt I say my whiteness is a guilty pleasure. :)

Suppose your great-great-grandfather was Simon Legree and your great-grandfather fought agains Reconstruction like Hell.
That still doesn't create any obligation to any person on yourself.
