Trump doesn’t play by their rules. According to their rules, when they call him a racist or some other “ist” or “phobe”, he is supposed to cringe and cower and apologize profusely. He is supposed to squirm and wriggle on the hook until they decide to let him off that hook. But Trump doesn’t cringe, cower or apologize profusely. Put him on the hook and he just shrugs and says, “So what?” He ripped up their rule book and then urinated on the scraps — and it drives them crazy! They don’t know how to handle someone who refuses to play the game. This is one of many things that I like about the man.

I think you’re asking far too much. I don’t think that they can even acknowledge that we the American people actually elected him. I’m sure they don’t know anyone who voted for him (or who will admit that they did) so it couldn’t have been a “real” election, he somehow “stole” it. I think that they are so far out of the mainstream that they think they ARE the mainstream.
I don’t think that their worldview allows for the concept of “a good man” either. While you and I may believe that “nobody’s perfect” in their view he just hasn’t been “caught” yet.
I don’t think that there’s anything to “catch.” I believe, my opinion, is that he looked at that before he decided to run, and decided that there was nothing to be uncovered about him that could effectively be used against him. Donald Trump was not a politician (one of his best attributes!) but he was a very public person for a very long time. People have been dilligently digging for anything to use against him and haven’t found it, from the moment he announced his candidacy. If there was anything we’d know it by now.
If they had looked into obama ONCE, he NEVER would have even been on the ballot.

By election time in 2016, I quit just wanting to vote against Hillary and wanted to vote for him. More so now. The more he is attacked the more I want to vote for him.
I remember saying the same thing way back after the “grab ‘em by the...” recording came out and they had all of the machine guns, RPG’s, nukes, etc., all lined up for the imminent debate with Hillary. They unloaded everything they had and just assumed Trump was finished. After all the smoke cleared, he wasn’t just still standing, he won the debate.
It was practically biblical. I remember thinking, “they’ve never seen anything like this before”. They still have no answer.
