Today and tomorrow is the annual Prime Days now expanded to 2 days. I bought fishing line, a belt, and a restaurant gift card. If you fish, there is a sale on Penn reels; I already own a couple so did not need more.
Why support an enemy?
Is this applicable if you’re already Prime, or is it to offer Prime services to those who aren’t?
I guess in a sense both. If you are already a Prime member great but obviously they want people to be induced to sign up.
Oops, that was Walmart.
We live in the sticks. We live by amazon.
We don’t do prime day, though. We just buy stuff when we need it. We won’t know what we need until we need it.

Mostly new stuff at Amazon prices or better, and often with free shipping.
Just got two new Gerber Paraframe II folding knives (I seem to misplace my knives a lot out here on the farm) for barely more than the same price as one of the same knife on Amazon.
Because stores do not stock what I want to buy.
Just bought computer gear from newegg. Some retailers are coming in lower than Amazon on prime day.

No. Not even close. I just choose to drive to shop elsewhere on-line.
I’ve been watching Amazon since midnight. Haven’t seen anything I’m interested in yet. They have (or had) what looked like a good price for iPads. $299 for a pad with (I think) 132 GB.
I have an iPhone and a MacBook so I don’t see any benefit in having a pad.
I’m interested in kitchen equipment. I retired almost 3 years ago and took up cooking as a hobby. (Haven’t been able to eat much in about 14 months, but also haven’t given up thinking that I will be able to...eventually).
I’m checking Amazon’s main page fairly frequently. I suppose it makes sense that Amazon’s emphasis in on their products (Fire, echo, kindle) but I’m not interested in any of that. Other than that, I really haven’t seen any sales that I don’t see on and off over the course of a year.
I don’t know if any new Prime members get a price break on monthly fees today and tomorrow. I can say Prime is costing me $13.77/month now. I’ve probably saved enough in shipping costs to cover the monthly fee, and I watch Prime Video fairly frequently (the broadcast nets are barren).
I haven’t used any Whole Foods discounts yet because, well, I ain’t eaten’ much.
It can’t be “Prime Day”.. the date is not prime.
Why don’t you pay for Prime annually, instead of monthly? It would save you about $50 a year.
The owner of Overstock.com is conservative.
But did you NEED those items and money down the drain.
Ugh, don’t support Amazon.
We live in the sticks, too. However, we avoid Amazon like the plague. Easy to do and better buys on other sites.
“Why dont you pay for Prime annually, instead of monthly?”
Maybe I will. I haven’t yet because I didn’t plan to be a member for this long. Thanks for reminding me about the discount you get if you subscribe for a year at a time.
I always check ebay first. I like ebay better than Amazon.
“Because stores do not stock what I want to buy.”
They don’t carry the goods and don’t want to. Or if they order for your, they will try to charge more than their retail prices and some outrageous.
That happened when my wife tried to buy two lamps for our living room from from a locally owned store.
They wanted full price and a special delivery to their store which again cost more.
I came home and went to their on line store. Ordered the two lamps at 25% less than their local store. They were delivered at no extra cost in 3 days.
My wife has a lot of very thin hair and her hair spray at her beauty shop kept going up in price. I. ordered it from Amazon, got one day shipping, at $5 less per container and 5% Amazon bucks for using my Amazon prime card.
On her next visit to the shop, they tried to sell her a can for more than her last visit. She showed them the receipt from Amazon and got the spray at a $ less than Amazon.
