Hey EEE, are we just posting underappreciated metal tracks from back when here for entertainment? Prospectively adding on Iced Earth - Dante's Inferno as a bump.

Thanks! Metallica is much more than a ‘metal’ band, and I really respect their musicianship. That said, if you haven't, you should check out Apocalyptica. They're a group of cellists, and have covered Metallica on cello.

I hate to say it, but I once walked out of a Metallica performance.

“I hate to say it, but I once walked out of a Metallica performance.”

Did the same at a Grateful Dead show. Did it again at a second one.

They absolutely sucked live. And they weren’t all that good in the studio, either.

Fwiw, my brother knew Kirk Hammett, went to school with him. Used to see him around, had no idea he’d make it big one day.

Anyone remember the Napster debacle?

They were playing at Blizzcon, so we had paid for the convention, not the concert. And the performance was not that good. I’m not a big metal fan anyway, unless the metal is from a Mongolian throat singing band (check out The Hu Band).

Well, that’s definitely better than going to school with Adam Schiff for brains, like I did!
