Farm kid
Health class was old news. I had seen animals all my life. My Mom, while a very prim and proper woman, did not hesitate to tell me this stuff.
The (1993) MacArthur Fellow Margie Profet argued that menstruation was the body’s method for disposal of toxins.

Why does this article only discuss women’s menstrual cycle.
Men can have them too. (So I’ve heard).
Men can have periods. (Source: Google).
It is one reason women live longer. Again a buncha women who hate being how they were created, wanting to be men.
I feel bad for single men. Next they are going to say all men must sit to pee. For equality sake.
Soyboys will post pix of them sitting in solidarity... and their “wives” will be so proud.
Did SA tie this to Gorebal Warning?
It’s about all they do anymore.
Men can have and need abortions.
I heard it from some ‘Rat/Commie POTUS candidate.
Humans are the only mammals that menstruate, all others depend on their lymphatic system to handle the mess.
There is one species of primate that has something a bit similar but not really like the full-blown stripping and discharge of the uterine lining that humans have.
Yeah, that "believes" in global warming as "settled science". That sure establishes it as a prestige science magazine for me. /sarc
The mag started going downhill in the mid/late 1980s.
And not just because Martin Gardner had retired earlier...
That mag was once great. It is now overflowing with global warming, women in science, multiculturalism and every other silly PC obsession there is.
I grew up on a ranch and learned from the animals too. My mother was the same and no problem talking to my sister and I about anything. She would talk to my brothers if they asked but they usually talked to my dad.
The further away from agriculture the more issues we seem to have. Have you noticed people who live and work rural have far less issues with life issues, especially sickness and death? More realistic, think it more of a natural part of life? Not that we don’t grieve, we surely do but we also recognize inside that it is part of life.
Wait until it is widely published that the pill is the leading contributor to cancer in women of all kinds.
All forms of birth control are evil
In particular
The pill and condoms
Just thinkin out loud here, but it may have something to do with humans walking upright. Might not be easy to properly flush the uterine lining without the gravity assist.
Good thought but the many gals who have had a nocturnal onset of menses would argue against...
Nothing but b.s. it has been a familiar subject since I was growing
up in the fourties, the only difference is more people knew when to
keep their mouths shut.
No, the negative attitude towards is is not due to lack of understanding, it has nothing to do with *understanding* it.
If I understood it completely, I'd still have a negative attitude towards it.
The negative attitude is all because of having to live with it and the accompanying "...cramps, bloating, fatigue, anger, or other symptoms".
Whoever made that comment does not deal with what the 80% have to live with every month.
They used to teach us this stuff at about the right time in school...instead of how to put condoms on cukes and how to perform oral/anal sex....
