Veteran journalist Dan Rather on Friday lamented how American foreign policy has, under President Donald Trump, “become incoherent and amateurish.”
The former CBS news anchor told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that Trump’s conduct while meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G-20 Summit in Osaka, Japan, was “deeply strange, at least borderline bizarre.”
Trump joked with Putin about election meddling and getting “rid” of journalists.
Rather also criticized Trump’s praise at the summit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for doing a “spectacular job” and his tweeted offer to meet North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un at the Korean Peninsula’s demilitarized zone for a handshake.
“History is watching through all this,” Rather warned, later adding: “The president is praising almost any autocrat he can find.”

Journalists are indeed a dangerous cry wolf threat. Nothing more dangerous than collective voices, and their speech should be tightly controled. Instead we have individuals on small budgets on youtube getting muzzled.

Obamunists in the deep state were planting news stories to feed the investigators calls for an investigation into Trump. This is not the Anerican way, Dan.
Trump is a negotiator, Rather is a pundit. Who would you choose to negotiate with dangerous mem who command armies?
Punditry comes with great responsibility as a prominent speaker can strengthen the position of a negotiator, or weaken it. Dan is an example of a man incapable of seeing past his own bias to focus on his job enough to understand his subject.
That makes him a pundit instead of columnist, or a reporter.

A normal, decent person would live his remaining years in seclusion after being caught in such a monumental lie, but not Dan. Here he is giving advice to Trump.
