the california dmv is hopelessly inept and often does not check any documents that may be tendered to it
and
most of the docs (whether real or photoshopped) are available for trivial sums at local schoolyards, parks, restaurants, and more
furthermore, all of this is well known to the politicians that sponsored these rules in the first place
When I got my Real ID almost an hour was spent verifying documents. I would be surprised if the federales under Trump would permit Real ID issuance under lax conditions.
