Dont forget how the commies under stalin had destroyed a good part of the russian military’s officers in their purges - the people who actually knew how to fight wars. They then imposed commissars to herd the unfortunate russian soldiers towards the enemy with disastrous results. Only the incompetance of Hitler and the unfortunate winter weather (worst in 50 years )
So the HUGE losses taken by the russian military in that war were a direct result of the incompetence of the communist politicals running that country down.
