"Excitement never ends when I’m looking forward to something!"

I get my philosophical guidance where I can.

If I had to pay for it, it wouldn't be worth as much.

That's true, Bob. The joy in anticipating something I've paid for is not nearly as intense as the joy of knowing someone else has sent me something.

Good morning. The shower has been had but nothing else, so far.

Back. Just as I was coming down the hill from Walmart Pass, I thought I wanted an iced chocolate mocha, and then realized that I saw no lighted HUGH American flag blowing in the stiff breeze, and there were no lights on except for the 7-11 store and gas station attached to it. But as I got closer to the intersection, I saw the marquee at the furniture store down the street that said the time was 5:00 and the temp was 44F. Yes, I could have turned around, but I have to go out again this morning so I can get it then.

I’m tired. (So what’s new?)

I buy enough milk to last the month and freeze it. I buy it in quarts, since I’m the only body that drinks it. Yogurt is another matter. but to quote my late brother, “How do you know if yogurt has gone bad?”

We go through a gallon every 2-3 days: more if someone (other than myself) buys something other than Skim.

I finished the WSJ crossword puzzle, with a couple of contributions from Vlad and James.

Hello again. Happy Wednesday.

I think Kitteh has espied something, but I’m not sure Kitteh is glad to have espied it.

I forgot what it was like to go through milk like that. I buy 10 quarts a month, and that lasts. I try to buy whatever I can to last a month because that’s what I’m geared to do. Too many years in the military and on a fixed income to not have more than one real shopping day. Yes, I “pick up a few things” during the month, but those are perishables.

Maybe I need to get busy and do crosswords every day. Or a jigsaw. I like doing them online because I don’t have a table I can dedicate as a “game table.”

Happy Wednesday!! So now that you’ve been doing it for a while, how do you like working from home one day a week?

I’m not so great at remote work. There’s plenty of paperwork I need to do but mixing it in with checking up on what’s going on is a better way for me to work than setting aside the paperwork time. I guess I would have been diagnosed as ADHD if it weren’t “boys being boys” back in my

SQUIRREL!

something other than Skim.

Milk thoughts - from someone who grew up in farm country.

Skim is not milk. It is poorly coloured water.

"Whole" milk isn't.

If your dairy herd produced milk with only 3.5% butterfat the whole herd would be in McDonald's supply chain tomorrow.

Unfortunately there aren't many people in today's world who know what real milk tastes like. And if you don't have your own herd to supply real milk, regulations make you and the farmer do circus tricks, er, jump through hoops, to get some.

There is a farm down the road a piece (actually about 8 miles as the crow crows - more if you follow the designated motorways) that sells fresh from the bovine milk. It once was that you could drop off your own container/bottle/thermos/jar/whatever and they would fill it for you at milking time. Then the county/state/feds/some government regulator got all concerned and forced them to provide their own non-refillable containers from an approved source, properly labeled and dated. The price of real milk went up by a third because the government helped..

That place at least still sells real milk. There was another farm that was even closer that also sold fresh-from-cow milk. When the 'new' interpretation of regulations hit they said to heck with it and closed their store.

Some in our area have adapted by selling fresh ice cream as "creameries". Talk to the folks at that second farm. It's obviously seasonal, so it could offer a nice sideline for the summertime.

Been looking for a thread silly enough or sitter enough.
Nobody has been coming out to play though.
