A Michelle Obama administration means the return of Valerie Jarrett as behind the scenes POTUS. Perhaps it isn’t coincidental she is living with the Obamas.
Consider the dilemma for the Democrats. Biden is probably the announced candidate most able to beat Trump. He may pick up enough of the blue collar voters who defected to Trump in 2016, plus take advantage of the demographic trend which is in the Democrats favor. However, Biden is old and has a number of potential problems (son’s relationship with the Chicoms, his own groping). None of the rest of the field is as strong on name recognition with independents nor seems capable of assembling a winning coalition of Democrat leftists, traditional Democrats and independents.
Michelle at the top of the ticket, or running as POTUS with Biden, solves the problem. She has a lock on the black vote. She will gain a disproportionate share of the female vote. Likely a disproportionate share of the young vote. She also ensures high minority turnout. Trump won by small margins in quite a few states. Michelle, on the ticket, should swing enough votes in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, Wisconsin to put those states in the Democrat column. Plus Michelle, and the demographic shifts since 2016, may also move South Carolina and Georgia too Dem.
The Obamas, with Valjar, didn’t stay in Washington for no reason.
That's my biggest fear - a Biden/obama ticket would draw in all those you mention, and they are legion.
