The long process seems overwhelming to average non-politicians like me. It’s necessary though, to start weeding out those who don’t stand a chance. As I recall in 2011, there were still about nine republican candidates appearing in debates.

Usually, there is a moment of reckoning in the January of Election Year. People have had time to celebrate the holidays with their families and evaluate how the prior months have been going. One year from now, we will most likely have the final contenders who have survived this upcoming summer.

The debates will go a long way to weeding out the candidates. The first one is about 5 weeks away. Sleepy Joe is going to have to prep a lot to keep up with the rest of the field. He is not the most articulate of candidates and not the most energetic. Will the debates reveal that the emperor has no clothes?
