It’s a horse race, not a jockey race. Winning by a nose doesn’t have anything to do with the jockey’s nose. Sadly, that’s not the way the rules are written but they should be.

Automatically disqualified.

A riderless horse on the track is dangerous to itself and all of the other horses.

I too imagine the handicapped weight being “compromised’ would disqualify the horse.

Easy. The horse is DQed as soon as it loses its jockey.

Even stupidly did not have THAT rule, they would be DQed for not carrying the same weight as before the race. There is weigh-in and weigh-out.

And BTW, look up NATIVE DIVER, one of the all-time greats, whose feats included 3Hollywood Gold Cups in a row. One of those HGCs included a horse who lost the jock. THAT horse actually won the race...beat Native Diver! But even in the call, he is ignored and often discussions of it ignore the horse finishing in front.

Riderless does not count... horse lost the weight it was supposed to carry.

I read that the jockey didn’t have one foot in the stirrup when the gates opened, so when the horse acted up -— he went plop.

But can you imagine if the horse HAD won?

At PT, for the fun of it, we had a lottery, and my horse made the win, after that disaster first race. But I was given two names and War of Will won the Preakness, Does that make me a double crown winner?

What would happen if a horse threw off its jockey and dragged him across the finish line and won the horse-race?

It would be one for the record books.

At that race, did I hear correctly that the name of one of the horses was, “Covfefe”?

The jockey was a short little guy and that might have had something to do with him being thrown off.

They all are....There's no such thing as a tall, heavy jockey.....LOL!

The horse is probably thinking “I finally got that monkey off my back...”
