Also in 2012, the Los Angeles Times reported that BSA was reviewing about 5,000 cases from the 1950s onwards,
So you had 5,000 cases in 2012 but by 2016 the number was up to 7,819.

Personally I think they all started pouring in at the May 2013 anouncment.
It took 62 years to get to 5,000 cases and only four years to get to almost 3,000 more.
