Wait, if you can, until one of their free phone promos comes up and make the switch then.

There is no such thing as a "free phone", unless you're talking about an Obamaphone.

I’ve been meaning to look into Patriot mobile for awhile. I’ve heard the advertisements that say they are veteran owned and are an alternative to the big companies that donate to liberal causes like planned parenthood. These guys supposedly have just as reliable service and donate part of their proceeds to the nra and Prager University.

I was thinking of getting a cheap phone to try it and see if the coverage works for me before I switch.

I would love to hear if anyone has tried Patriot Mobile and what they think of them.

Wow, a lot of folks paying way to much on this thread. Just a few suggestions, those that are ok with T-Mobile service use the MVNO Mint Mobile. $15 a month for unlimited talk and text plus 3gb data a month when pre paid 3-12 month in advance. Sprint?, try Tello MVNO they have pay as you go or very reasonable custom plans. Example 200 min talk, unlimited text, 2gb data for $16 a month. There maybe even better MVNO deals out there.

So you’ve gotten a bunch of responses, but another option not mentioned is Ting. They simply charge you based on what you use, with several tiers of text/minutes/data. Pretty cheap. You can (probably) bring your own phone. If it’s CDMA they have better coverage in S OR though.

I have ATT, been on them for a looong time. Never had too many issues, and the times they screwed up the bill, it’s been somewhat easy to get it fixed. I’m paying about $150 a month (ouch) for unlimited data/talk/text on three lines. Not great, but the only time I’ve had bad service was the three weeks at Ft Bliss. they were down to zero to maybe two bars the whole time there. Course, I live in DFW so every phone provider is going to have good coverage here.
