At first, I thought that liberal attacks on Biden in the media are just a case of the Left devouring its own for lack of purity - i.e. Biden is too white, too male, not "woke" (radical) enough, etc.

However, I really doubt this is all happening spontaneously. More likely, he's getting pushed out of the way pre-emptively to make room for some other (as of yet undeclared) candidate that the DNC wants to anoint. If Biden isn't in the race, the Democrats are left with ideological extremists like Sanders and Warren who are unelectable in a general election, a flavor of the month who's already gotten stale (O'Rourke) and a bunch of no-names and also-rans who are unlikely to get much traction.

I can't help but think that this is their way of paving the way for a "reluctant" Hillary Clinton to enter the race in the near future, claiming that only she can save the Democrats from self-destruction.
