A Houston-area teacher was on the receiving end of death threats after asking students to review an essay that appears to be critical of President Trump, according to a report.
The teacher, who was not identified, had seventh-grade students read 10 student-written essays to determine what information could be inferred, the Houston Chronicle reported. One essay, titled Trump Against American Values, said some of Trumps policies have gone against what Americans value most, like freedom of opportunity and that we have witnessed insensitive remarks toward other racial and cultural groups.
After reading, the students were given two multiple-choice questions. The first asked "Which of the following conclusions would the author most likely agree with?" One response was, Donald Trump should not be president."
The second question asked students to complete the statement, "The reader can infer that ..." One of the choices listed was, Mexican Americans are the major group upset with President Trump.

The teacher doesn’t seem to know everything about Mexican Americans. Many Mexicans are Christian Catholics. Many Mexicans (even the poorest) are educated for free in Catholic schools. Our Mexican immigrants are not going to forget their moral upbringing, and will vote for Christian values.
Goosecreek schools are about 60% Hispanic and about 26% white. They’re indoctrinating the young ‘uns for the demonrat’s illegal voter base. Plus, this comes from Houston so what do you expect.
The worksheet looks as if it’s from a published workbook. It would be interesting to know where the teacher got it and if was school approved before it wasn’t approved when they got caught.
Look for the union label.
Death threats are horrible. There are unstable people on every side. That said, this assignment was terrible.
It was a pure propaganda piece, with no preamble or explanation to the children that it was an opinion piece, and I assume no piece with an opposite view to balance it. I would have been furious if my child got that.
I taught for a while. I was always aware that I never wanted to contradict what a parent may be imparting to their child. If I thought the parent was an irrational leftist, I was very careful in my interactions with that child to simply say to examine actions carefully to determine truth and not listen and be swayed by words.
I know this school district well.
Its heavily Hispanic.
Also, lots of gang activity.
Well I’m not convinced of that....
