Double jeopardy is not being tried twice for the same crime.
He hasn’t been tried for anything yet.
So, shouldn’t the nigerian princes who attacked him be arrested?
I was referring to the fact that the Democrats always prosecute both ways.
Federal conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges at the very least.

Thanks. Makes sense. Hope you are right.
The very words racist and homophobic have been sanctified......and now possess a political power......true or not.....
to be lobbed at perceived enemy lines like artillery shells. In his small mind, Smollett is heroic. The "oppressor" is the one to blame.
He is sitting pretty.......awaiting The Big Payoff.
=====================================
Jussie Smollett's victimized personna fought like blazes to get a TV interview. ABC's GMA obliged him. Smollett
was a picture-perfect, fighting-mad victim as he spoke to an unblinking Robin Roberts on ABC's GMA.
Smollett reinvented himself as an especially fierce kind of victim, a cool hero. I fought the f**k back, he told believer Roberts.
And, miracle of miracles, while Smollett was fighting off hate-filled attackers, he never once lost control of his tuna sub sandwich.
Expect that he was politicly paid to do this by several of the candidates if not one in particular and president Obama probably backed him 100%. That in itself is probably a crime
Apparently they get away with it as well. And now they have a target on their back by Smullet.
"I skipped law class the day they taught penalizing multiple felonies. I was getting my nails done."
Chicago columnists blasted Kim Foxx's decision to drop the 16 felony counts against hoaxer Smollett. Chicago police union called for a federal investigation into Kim Foxxs handling of the case.....her sub rosa actions on the Smollett familys behalf after she was contacted by Tina Tchen, Michelle Obama's onetime aide. Amateur hour is over. ....this is nothing new for Kim Foxx. Weve been complaining about her for two years on so many levels. Her office is just completely out of control.
Equally reprehensible are the idiots at Southern Illinois University School of Law who gave her a law degree.
And those at Southern Illinois University Carbondale who let her out.
When he mailed the threatening letter through the US postal service, and included white powder, he committed a big no-no. He's toast.
He has to be charged by the feds. I don't see that happening.
Oh yes fed guv does not like people using terrorist threats by the US mail
I believe when you throw in the white powder and go I think its like a 10 year minimum
You’re missing the point.
The FBI is already investigating the letter. This look-see will be whether Kim Foxx used her position to attempt to derail the investigation of Jussie Smollet. Possible obstruction of justice may fit nicely. As a retired investigator I would say that the FBI could grab Foxx’s cell phone, email account and computer. Along with that they could grab Michele Obama’s ex-employee’s cell, computer and emails also. The same for the family member who made the initial request.
The the Police Chief will likely volunteer his electronic communication devices to show what pressure was being placed on him.
There may very well be an FBI agent in Chicago that had been contacted prior to Foxx requesting the Chief turn it over to the FBI. If so, that would explain the family member being excited about the potential for the FBI taking over the case
Unless there are real consequences for “hate crime” hoaxes, they will continue unabated. The best thing that the Justice Department could do is to make sure that Juicy and other perpetrators of “hate crime” hoaxes serve exactly the same prison sentences as those sentenced on assault and “hate crime” charges. The same thing should apply to #MeToo feminists who make false rape allegations: they should serve the same prison sentences as rapists. If there’s no penalty other than a slap on the wrist for perjury (and there isn’t when lies serve a politically correct agenda), we’ll keep having cases like Juicy’s on a regular basis.
