SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Adult film star Stormy Daniels briefly appeared at the Illinois Capitol on Friday to protest the state's tax on strip clubs.

The porn actress who alleges she had an affair with Donald Trump before he became president read a two-minute statement opposing the tax. Nicknamed the "pole tax," it's a 6-year-old surcharge on nude-dancing venues that serve alcohol and is meant to fund shelters for women who have been abused. The businesses pay $3 per patron or a set fee based on gross receipts.

It’s a rape tax because “men”. Houston had one when a lesbian ran the city.

I am sure they have to charge it on ladies nights as well.

It would only be equal and fair.

She was hired awhile back as the spokesho for a national strip club chain. Doing her job I guess. Gotta make that 130k to pay back Trump.

doesn’t Stephanie Clifford have a daughter? And a husband (I can just imagine what a model citizen he is)?

Maybe Stevie should pay attention to her domestic responsibilities instead of pole dancing and trying to harm a United States President and embarrass his family.

Fair has nothing to do with it.

ABC News says the poorly worded law could apply to a Madonna or Miley Cyrus concert (targets “topless” establishments and there is no “topless” charge for a man without a shirt).

and the Chronicle says that some Houston clubs were exempted from the tax

Don’t tax you, don’t tax me, tax that guy behind the tree. Calling it a pole tax is a good ‘un, wordsmith wise.

It’s a “sin tax” Just like every other moralist who advocates taxes on booze, cigarettes and now marijuana. It’s the “progressive” thing to do, Stormy.
It’s for the children!
