What is monolauren?
Monolaurin is derived from Lauric Acid, a medium-chain fatty acid (12 Carbons) rich in coconut oil and mother’s milk.
It is a potent anti-bacterial and anti-viral agent, and was popularized as an OTC supplement by Ecological Formulas.
The body can make Monolaurin from Lauric Acid. As with many supplements, the value of exogenous Monolaurin is getting it at high dosage in short order.
Coconut Oil is the richest natural source of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) in foods, at about 50%.

Sorry - bad mobile phone thumb spelling... it’s lauric acid - coconut oil derivative.
I did an initial screening with a naturalpath a few months ago. I’m hypothyroid and was looking for more than just - “take the synthroid” and we’ll see you next year. Hypo and hyperthyroid problems are generally an autoimmune response. The naturalpath was all about finding the reason for the autoimmunr reaction in the 1st place.
The initial bloodwork was pretty extensive and one of the things that is very common among those with thyroid problems is active epstein barr virus. This is the same virus that causes cold sores(herpes), and it lies dormant in a large section of the population. It also likes to populate in the thyroid. I don’t expect that it’s reversed any of my thyroid issue, but I certainly feel better. I won’t be getting another checkup on the T3 & 4 for a few more months.
Long story short - Mononlaurin, astragalus, cats claw, ginseng all fight bacteria and suppress epstein barr. All are great for cell health, and immune system.
