Here is some info on herbs etc that are considered to help with blood sugar issues. I don’t personally have experience with this either myself or any clients, but I know BS can be a problem over 40 in many people. In fact, while I was looking info up the last couple of days, I found out that 90% of diabetes in the US (according to what I read, anyway) is Type 2.
Herbs traditionally used to help reduce or control blood sugar, I am not writing many details about each herb but do plan on writing up many herb uses extensively.
Black and green tea - contain antioxidants catechin and epicatechin that are supposed to help with BS
Gurmar - other names Gymena, Shardunika - traditionally used in Asia for diabetes, both Type 1 and 2, also helps lower cholesterol and triglycerides, said to restore pancreatic funtion.
Taking Gurmar with shilajit is used by modern Ayurvedic practicioners for diabetes therpay
Fenugreek seeds - use in foods, as a tea and herb
Bitter melon - eaten in Asia a lot, ultra bitter. Found as a dried herb or vegetable, definitely acquired taste, supposed to be very helpful for BS
Neem leaves - also very bitter, many uses (wide spectrum anti-microbial), stimuates insulin secretion. I recommend tablets or capsules, tastes ultra horrible
Guggul (also spelled Guggulu) - for BS and many other uses, including lowering chol./Triglycerides
Amalaki - very widely used for a great many benefits, highest natural source of Vit C even if dried or cooked, I could type out pages on it (and plan to), also helpful with BS.
Shilajit - a mineral pitch from specific rocks in the Himalyas - especially good for kidneys, reproductive system, urinary problems, diabetes and a rejuventive. Tastes horrible, recommend tablets or capsules.
Spices and foods considered healthful and useful for BS issues. Spices can be used in foods, in teas or in capsules, I really could not give clues about doses, I’d say just try to take however one can, and experiment, some like turmeric and ginger can be taken in good amounts:
Cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, nutmeg, bay leaf, cayenne, ginger (powdered), coriander seed
Foods - more legumes are considered good for BS issues, dandelion greens, okra, cabbage, papaya, turnip, cranberry, jerusalem artichoke, millet, oats, barley, buckwheat, onions, garlic.

Thank you for the info! I bought a herb blend called Sugar Blues Tea from a herbalist. This was recommended to me by a friend who takes insulin. She says it has helped lower her blood sugar. I’ll let y’all know how it works for me. I am borderline = not diabetic yet.
