Infections such as infective illnesses such as the ones you mentioned, or infections like boils?

Now that you mention it, topical infections would be a likely condition for medical treatment with chlorine dioxide because the medicine wouldn’t enter your body systemically, so any toxic effects on the person would be minimized to the local area.
I treat boils with plain wet tea bags. Squeeze out water and apply to boil. The tannin draws out the pus.
