Any ideas?
this thread isn’t going the way you thought, is it?
Smile pleasantly as you walk on by.
I wouldn’t suggest it. I have thought to a degree about this, and the kids have no idea.
They are pawns being brainwashed, and that is their parent’s decision to brainwash them.
I just politely and firmly refuse.
I was a GS for 11 years. In the 50s and 60s...I hate not supporting them but these days I just walk by and ignore them, or smile and walk by.
“I don’t want any cookies, thank you. Have a nice day.”
I don’t eat them anyway. Last I checked, they were made with cheap ingredients. The kids aren’t going to understand the PP link, and I bet many of the parents aren’t, either.
I deal directly and forthrightly with these children with the words: “I am diabetic and cannot eat sweets.” If they persist about some kind of dietetic sugarless cookie I inform them that my Dr. forbids me to eat any carbohydrates. That seems to do it and does not ruffle feathers.
just walk on by. I will buy an extra box of cookies.
I can’t. I support girls’ organizations like American Heritage Girls that reflect my values.

Just go to the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints volunteer page. Download one of their door to door donation training flyers.
Anytime it mentions “ sin” cross it out and make it “Girl Scout Cookies” or “Planned Parenthood”.
Next time you encounter them outside Home Depot, pull out your script and hold up the line whilst informing them their little souls are doomed to hell unless they repent.
Is that the script you are looking for?
The local troops do not all espouse what GS HQ does.
Don’t
Or you could just not be rude to some innocent kids. Ever thought about that?
‘Pigeon hole’ the parents and tell them that they (GS) can’t have it both ways, and I still won’t buy if ‘they’ let boys in the GS.
Naturally the ladies present will say they don’t agree with girls in the BS and I countered with, BUT leadership doesn’t seem to mind and when Girls are Girls and Boys are Boys, I may reconsider.
I just can’t support an outfit that ‘supports’ and buys into things I am opposed to.
Not shouting, just speaking in a soft voice so the ‘kids’ don’t overhear it....
Would NEVER dream of addressing the kids directly
“No, thanks.”
But leave the little girl child laborers out of it, and just tell them, "No, thanks."
You won’t win any points by harassing little girls. Leave them alone.
Look at the adult and ask “How much for the little girl?”
