If that’s the case that nobody should know, maybe SEALS shouldn’t call home on unsecure phones to tell their parents what they just did. After all, If the secret is too cool for you to keep, how the hell do you expect proud mommy and daddy to keep it?
Also, it’s a standing joke in the SOF community that if SEALS are involved in anything the final paragraph of the mission order involves book and movie rights.
Big picture, Aircrews on ferret missions in the 1950s, the SR-71 and U-2 pilots in the 1950s and 60s and guys working on the F-117 in the 70s never called home to tell wives and parents about their recent cool mission. Most of those guys never said -a word- until 4 or 5 decades later.
I grew up in the age when a secret was a secret.
I wish they would instruct our guys to keep their mouths shut .
