I do have more information, looks like I made a mistake describing the initial attack. I did not see how the ankle could be broken that way without someone landing a heavy kick on it and I knew Sparks has been attacked from behind.

However, it appears that what happened was Brito ran up from behind and grabbed his hat and hair violently; causing Sparks' head to snap back. Sparks instinctively held on to his hat while Brito was maniacally pulling it. They fell to the ground and it seems Brito fell on Sparks' ankle. I guess that could do it as well. Everything else is the same, Brito ran off and ran back kicking the downed Sparks and beating on him until pulled off. Sparks' ankle will never be the same, he will never walk the same.
