Second paragraph is incorrect. The Baptist church taught that a persons dark skin was the mark of Cain and hence that blacks were inferior because God proclaimed it
Except if one reads a little further, Cain's lineage didn't survive the flood.
There was a lot of rationalizing that had to be done in order for a culturally christian people to accept slavery.
