In the previous article, I discussed the global nature of the oil markets. But the shale oil boom in the U.S. temporarily increased the localized impact on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) benchmark. As a result, its price diverged from that of international crudes for a few years.
The natural gas markets, on the other hand, are far more localized due to the difficulty in transporting natural gas. That means that natural gas in the U.S. could be $3 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), but double or triple that level in Japan or Europe.

Last week they were complaining about a huge gasoline oversupply situation.
If Government stays out of it we are fine
The Government won’t ... So “We Are Screwed”
We are going to be very sorry we burned up all the precious natural gas to make electricity instead of abundant coal. NG should be used for higher-value applications and coal used to make power.
Burning HUGE amounts of NG to make electricity to appease the Global Warming kooks is just insane and very short-sighted.
Article is about natural gas, not gasoline.
You’re right. You can run diesel trucks on natural gas, saving oil. Use coal for electricity.
Peak oil!
Peak oil!
Peak oil!
They can all doc off.
NG is best used as a feedstock to make manmade materials and for space heating. Burning coal in your home furnace and in your kitchen is a real pain in the neck.
Peak oil!
Peak oil!
Peak oil!
Peak natural gas!
Peak natural gas!
Peak natural gas!
Remember Pelosi and the RATS complaining that it would take 10 years to get enough oil out of the ground to get prices below 4.00 a gallon?
Guess what, that was over 10 years ago. And now they don’t want that oil.
What a bunch of effing idiots.
Here is an excellent article concerning natural gas from late last year:

EIA forecasts renewables will be fastest growing source of electricity generation

Exactly. High value fuels should be used in high value applications - mobile equipment, space heating, etc.
Unfortunately, the global warming kooks have completely bamboozled the populace and they honestly believe we can get all our power from pixie dust and unicorn farts.
That is ONLY true because it is MANDATED by governments pushing the global climate change / climate catastrophe garbage. If the governments butted out, not a single windmill or solar generating plant would get built. And there would be zero difference to the climate.
Got to take a bite at a time. Exelon has a NG pilot plant in last stage of testing which, with addition of a gasification unit, will operate on coal. The NG version will deliver combined-cycle efficiency with total combustion products capture. The coal burner is likely to fall within 47-51 percent overall efficiency.
Kind of funny how we went from hugely dependent on outside sources and now export a lot....where was the “can we keep up” concern when we were so dependent?
