Feds can’t just bypass the states and tell mayors what they can do, can they? Maybe in the Bizarro Constitution.

Well the Feds do have Constitutional authority over the border except in pinhead world.

Yes they can. Preemptory seizing of property for the common good. A very necessary feature to keep balky landowners from stalling important projects like highways and dams and--you guessed it--border walls for the nation's state's, and local security.

I'm not sure what Bizarro world you live in but in this one the feds trump state and local; especially when it comes to national security. There is no national security issue more important than the invasion of America by undesirable foreigners across our borders.
