You are right. My theory has been for decades that Americans who played baseball (or softball) and wore mitts on their LEFT hands are more comfortable holding objects with their left hand.

I have no empirical proof, but its been true in my life. For at least a decade after the PC revolution I used my left hand for the mouse because it felt comfortable for this very reason. (Don’t ask me why or how I switched to the right, my dominant hand).

To this day I will hold a beverage with my left hand at least as often, if not more than, my right ....
