Wright Brand used to supply thick bacon to most grocery stores years ago. I now see the packages with their label on it at most chains in the DFW area.

Well worth it.

We used to get our from Vernon TX and it just tasted better than anything else. Looks like they were bought out by Tyson, who has smartly kept the name.

Our local grocery store has Wright Brand thick sliced bacon.

I prefer the thinner sliced. But the kind I mentioned at HEB is the best thin sliced bacon (not super thin) we have ever found. The mesquite smoke makes all the difference. It is pretty lean and packed a full pound in the individual pack within the 3pk box. Very reasonable price.

I buy very little from HEB, nearest store is 60 miles away, and because our local grocery store is locally owned and they are great merchants. Amazing how good their meat market, produce department and in general the store is stocked and priced. We are blessed.

There are a few things I pick up at HEB when we make a trip to the town where they are located. But we don’t go often now. We usually went shopping when my wife had a dental or doctor’s appointment, too often.
