I never got actual cash back. What I got with the coupon overage was free food or gift cards. Once I got so many FREE Home Depot gift cards that I used them to pay a friend of mine who is a home contractor to redo our bathroom with new tile & fixtures. Since he frequented Home Depot for supplies, it was the same as cash to him.
