Attorney Robert Barnes on Fox and Friends this morning.
"Were Giving Major Media, Celebrities 48 Hours to Apologize to Covington Kids or Face Lawsuit"
BARNES: Because these are all private citizens and many of them minors and kids the law is that saying anything about them is libel. And you dont have a defense of actual malice all you have to prove is negligence. So a lot of these journalists who have been saying false statements about these kids, false statements about the kids at the Lincoln Memorial, false statements about various photographs that are related to the school, slurring and libeling the entire school and all the alumnae of the school and all you have to prove is that they were negligent in doing so. At this standpoint at this point in time it is clear that anyone who continues to libel about these kids has done so illegally and can be sued for it.
FOX and Friends: Why do you want to do this? Why do you want to help the families?
BARNES: Well the nature of libel lawsuits is that they generally are very hard to bring. They cost between a quarter of a million and a million dollars to bring. Thats how much powerful people will use for their legal fees to defend such suits. So I wanted to equalize the playing field. These are people who couldnt afford to bring this claim on their own behalf. Thats why I offered my services for free because somebody needed to stop this from occurring to other kids across the country Everybody is now
FOX and Friends: I understand you want to give 48 hours notice. Thats your plan.
BARNES: Everybody is now on 48 hours notice. So by Friday everybody needs to retract and correct any false statements they have issued about these kids. That means any major member of the media. That means any celebrity. That means anybody with a substantial social media platform. If you have said anything false about these kids. They are willing to to offer you a 48 hour time period, a period of grace, consistent with their Christian faith, for you to through confessions get redemption to retract and apologize. If you do not in the next week you may be a defendant in a lawsuit.

BOOM....CNN you’re on the clock...
This ought to be interesting. I love it. I hope someone gets really rich on this, and it won’t be the news media.
Please, oh please, sue these people until they scream. Make their lives a living hell.
Where do I go to volunteer for jury duty?
This might get interesting.
Does this count as an apology?
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., under fire on social media for going after Covington Catholic students:
Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., has apparently deleted an overnight tweet going after Covington Catholic students anew, after facing a social media backlash for her comments.
Her tweet had been posted well after the initial round of misreporting on the students’ widely viewed confrontation with a Native-American elder in Washington last week. Media figures initially seized on the viral confrontation with Nathan Phillips, with an initial clip appearing to show the students antagonizing him. But additional video then emerged offering context, including that Phillips approached them amid a confrontation between the students and Black Hebrew Israelite protesters. The students pushed back on the initial criticism, and many of those critics have since retracted their statements.
MEDIA TREATMENT OF COVINGTON STUDENTS ‘WAY WORSE’ THAN KAVANAUGH COVERAGE, CRITIC SAYS
But Omar on Tuesday night responded to President Trumps tweet defending Covington student Nick Sandmann and his peers — by claiming they were taunting the black protesters despite accounts to the contrary and citing a videotaped comment about rape, though it’s unclear whether it was one of the Covington students who said it.
She wrote: “The boys were protesting a woman’s right to choose & yelled ‘it’s not rape if you enjoy it’ ... They were taunting 5 Black men before they surrounded Phillips and led racist chants ... Sandmann’s family hired a right wing PR firm to write his non-apology.”
But after an avalanche of criticism, the tweet had been removed by late morning on Wednesday.

That means any major member of the media. That means any celebrity.
Good, I hope some of them fail to retract in time and set up a really nice college fund for those kids.
Will Jim Carrey retract his painting?
“Where do I go to volunteer for jury duty?”
Good luck getting on any jury in a big liberal city.
However, there will probably be a lot of behind closed doors negotiations resulting in donations to this school and these kids’s college funds.
Hooray for the Good Guys! Finally a blow against ‘rat hate, ‘rat lies, and ‘rat coordinated propaganda.
I wonder if the Twitter organization is included in this, or if he’s just targeting individual people. I’d love to see almighty Twitter take it in the shorts. They have a bazillion dollars to fight with but if they lose, cha-ching!
And what’s the penalty for promoting violence against these kids?
Awsome! Go after Jim Carey hard!
“The piece, signed by the 57-year-old actor in the lower right corner, depicts Native American elder Nathan Phillips playing his drum while white students, three of four of whom are wearing red MAGA-style hats that read “hate again,” look on as they variously smile smugly, stick out their tongues, record with a phone in an American flag case and sneer at Phillips.”

Sue the coward!
Civil action won’t deter this ****.
But criminal action might.
“Does this count as an apology?”
Nope. Not an apology. Removing it is the weasel way out. Apology, please!
Well spoken. Anyone know background in this atty.
It’s a good step, but I wish the lawyer would just start issuing law suits w/o the apology period. Blindside the hateful rats as hard as possible
