I used one for reenactments for several years. The loading lever was a problem after much use as it would come down and lock the cylinder. On horseback it created some problems. When not in use I carried it on a pommel holster with a horseshoe pouch on the off side.

A leather slipknot was used
to hold the lever in place.
I plan on giving that a try.
