I must confess, I didn’t agree with your initial statement. As a retired LEO, I kept thinking how would I have handled the incident and at the end of the day, I probably would have told the customer to leave.

Perhaps you would have. However, once viewing the video and hearing the thump that indicated direct physical contact, initiated by the clerk and received by the customer, you would have been obligated to arrest the clerk for Simple Battery.

Most misdemeanors have to occur in the presence of the officer for an arrest to be made. This would have probably proceeded by summons or warrant. The video doesn’t change anything.
