Bunk? Not so! While no one can 'sell their souls' to the devil, they can become obsessed and possessed by evil spirits and thereby be compelled to commit murder, kill themselves, go insane. The blasphemous Voltaire, for example, died a horrible death screaming and shrieking in terror. He even tried to make a deal with Jesus Christ, which he put in writing. but his eternal doom was sealed and he screamed and writhed in terror till his last breath.

And then there were the multitudes of arrogant yet ultimately stupid Marxists who took the names of demons as Richard Wurmbrand reveals in his book, "Marx and Satan." They died horribly as well---murder, suicide, insanity, etc. were their own self-inflicted dooms. As for the demonically possessed Marx, he and most of his family---wife and children--died in terrible ways.

Hitler made a pact with a Nordic deity--a demon---that appeared to him in his room at night, causing Hitler to shriek in terror. He too, committed suicide.

The NAZIs dabbled in the occult, whether it was simply a pageantry and rites of initiation thing or genuinely held belief, I don’t know.

I didn’t know that, which might have, by the “skin of his teeth”, caused his soul to be saved...but I guess we won’t know that until the Day of Resurrection.

I did hear about the “scary shrieky” death he died.

There was one “Near Death” experience I read about who literally was on the verge of Hell. He had not been raised well and was a “bad sort”...but he said he cried out, praying some Child’s prayer he had learned in a Vacation Bible school or a Sunday school he went to as a child. Hell and the demons vanished, he was surrounded by light. and then he was returned to life. He became a Christians ans serves as a minister now.

I mention it because such a “ written confession by Voltaire” might have saved his soul.

Christ loves to save people...so we need to be cautious about being certain that such and such or so and so may truly be in Hell. We know that people will go there...yet Christ will save whom he will with just the least bit of Faith and contriteness of spirit...even at the edge of Hell! The Great White Throne Judgment is the one to be feared most...that’s when the Lamb’s Book of Life is opened to reveal the names written there-in!
