I wouldn’t discount the idea of them pretending it didn’t happen if it ever inconveniences them to stay away. They will blame medication, sick relative, upset over the children, etc.
A similar thing happened to a friend. Liberal relative went off, smashing a plate of food, storming off. The family reacted by dis-inviting my friend from events like it was his fault. So he quit sending money. After a few years, the whole incident never happened.
I have a “friend” who unfriends me every time she remembers I didn’t vote for Trump. Every few months I get a friend request from her, accept it and then another one comes. She did the unforgivable thing to me many years ago but I forgave her. But I didn’t forget.

I’ll step right into this without reading other replies. No doubt, they are excellent. So excellent, I may not want to put in my two (2) sense/cents (LOL) of advice.
Inviting her/them over again depends on exactly what the day’s Celebration is all about.
Well, for example: Is it for the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child and you want to celebrate it without any drama... then no, I wouldn’t recommend it. Because even the early church goers needed to have a place for which to praise the Lord in peace.
Is it for celebration and communication, such as Jesus did in the household of the Zacchaeus, despite him being a sinner? (See Luke, 19:3-4) If so, then it probably warrants an invitation. You could probably advise any invitees that there may be lively discussions and you simply request for partakers of the discussions to be courteous to all other speakers, especially at this wonderful time of the year.
If you have youngsters you want to show different types of thinking and the foreseen outcome, then by all means invite her/them over. Should anyone be storming out of the house or severely rude that would be an excellent time to give instruction to the youth. How? Cursing implies the other person has run out of instructive ideas and has lacks a comprehensive battery of the language needed to speak in relative terms of the discussion. Mind you, I am assuming you’ve already given the youngsters a dictionary at some time in their lives or they’ve had access to a dictionary. LOL
If you wish to teach youngsters, both male and female, that no needs tolerate violence, it may be another chance to show them how to deal with it. How? Advise in written format of the lively discussions that may take place and that you are looking forward to a wonderful get together. Should your female cousin or anyone else start being rude and violent ask them to leave, explaining to her or whoever is doing the rudeness that you are teaching your youngsters or the youngsters around that they do not have to tolerate violent and rude behavior from anyone, including relatives, subject matter not withstanding.
No youngsters around? Well, it’s a teaching lesson for your female cousin. She’s used to being violent, most likely, or she wouldn’t have did what she did at your residence.
Invite her, advising her of the possible lively discussions. If she attends, pull her aside at the door and advise her clearly that if she cannot handle discussions without rudeness you would understand if she left, NOW.
If she stays and pulls it, never allow her to darken the door again.
So many options. How are you going to choose with only 364 days until the next Christmas Day? :)

Went thru the same thing with my brother yesterday in regards to the wall and shutdown.

Agree. My kids are pretty liberal. But we do not allow anger or intolerance or insults.
