Back in the good old days, vanities were not allowed except for your Opus, or in rare occasions, after two years of good behavior as a full posting member.
But, this is not the old days and it hasn’t been since the era of the viking kittehs, so you can do whatever you want, as long as you are a regular contributor. If you get banned, pledge to contribute, a $3 one time contribution will usually do the trick. Be nice for awhile, awhile will be defined by your level of contribution.

I’ve seen mention of viking kittehs, I searched it and found it was apparently a blog by a former FReeper who obsessively searches out and tries to denigrate Free Republic posts and posters. He’s attracted a few commenters who are also seething with blind hatred. What are the origins of viking kittehs on FR? (I assume we’re miss-spelling it to avoid targeting.)
